As the new indoor season approaches for clubs, a series of volleyball sessions are now available. We will endevour to place a new set of drills on a weekly basis to assist coaches. This months Featured Club: Casualties

Based in Nottingham, Casualties volleyball club orginated from hospital staff at the Queen's Medical Centre. The club has now grown and welcomes players of all abilities (unknown sources now claim they only accept psychiatric patients). If you want to join, the club trains every Thursday evening between 7pm-8.30pm at the Portland Leisure Centre (NG2 2HE). Further details can be found on the website: www.hpjw.co.uk/volley/

Gloucester Volleyball Tournament 2006

A change of venue for the 16 year old tournament provided upgraded facilities all round. Showers that wet more than your big toe were a big plus and the bar and food provided the regular volleyball fuel. The rain appeared briefly on the Sunday, but teams endured the weather to play some quality volleyball.

The drills and sessions section to the website is going well, but still requires a few tweaks and more time. At the moment progress is going slow and the weekly sessions are not as weekly as one would like. Summer's Over - Tournaments 2006

As we come to the end of the outdoor season, clubs move their focus to the indoor season (September - March in the UK). The main factor of weather has been relatively good throughout and many new tournaments have benefited from this. Some of the more established tournaments have tried a few new things, but the level of consistency has been excellent. Nottingham Volleyball Tournament 2006

The tournament was a great success, with participants from around the UK. Blessed by fantastic weather the one-dayer in June went down a storm.

Bridlington Volleyball Tournament 2006

Much fun had in the north. Bridlington offered its usual fish 'n' chip culture, with the courts relocated to a better spot on the beach and offering upgraded facilities.
