Apologies

TheVolleyball.Net has gone through quite a few changes over the last year. Since its inception in 2004 I have attempted to get the format right and the information posted. When finally it seemed that everything was going well, the fit hit the shan, and my computer failed (there was smoke). This coincided with a brilliant marketing piece by the Volleyball Newsletter to which the hits to the website tripled and I was unable to provide any updated materials.

Over the last three months a new computer has been thrown together and the website has been redesigned. This version should now work in most browsers, any problems just let me know.

As always, my thanks for your patience.

Tournament News

Rotterdam Volleyball Tournament

Rotterdam Tournament date announced (go to EVENTS). Looks like the Dutch have brought this year’s tournament forward by a week to give the participants extra time to recover. A great tournament to open up the season with, if previous years are anything to go by this comes highly recommended.

Nottingham Volleyball Tournament

The Nottingham Tournament date has now been set for Saturday 9th June 2007. Entry to the tournament will start around March once a few more details have been finalised. For further details and notification of entry dates go to NOTTINGHAM TOURNAMENT in EVENTS.

Volleyball at an Early Age

Ever wonder why volleyball in the UK is not as proficient as the rest of the world? A lesson could perhaps be learnt from our antipodean cousins where this month 600 students participated in the Primary School’s Cup (Years 4-7) in Queensland. The students played a modified version of the sport using a softer ball, smaller court and lower net to increase participation and encourage success.
